Blanchard<br\/><b>Funding: <\/b> CIFRE<br\/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"panel-widget-style\" ><p>This thesis is a collaborative effort between the <strong>Laboratoire d&#8217;Informatique de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 du Mans (LIUM)<\/strong> and the <strong>Centre Hospitalier du Mans (CHM)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The main objective is to improve the medical debriefing phase following training based on <em><strong>Rapid Virtual Simulations<\/strong><\/em>. In a context where medical experts face significant time constraints and must balance patient care with teaching, the use of smart technologies presents an opportunity to enhance training programs.<\/p>\n<p>The concept of RVS (Rapid Virtual Simulations), developed by Drs. Blanchard and Wiseman, is based on an innovative pedagogical approach:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u201cJust realistic enough\u201d philosophy<\/strong>: The idea is to achieve a satisfactory learning impact by using activities that are \u201cjust realistic enough,\u201d without seeking unnecessary technological complexity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Minimal complexity<\/strong>: The approach seeks to reduce technical complexity and the representation of knowledge to facilitate the deployment and use of the tools.<\/li>\n<li><strong>International recognition<\/strong>: These educational technologies are generating significant interest in the medical community and are gradually being adopted in various simulation centers in France and Canada, and possibly soon in Germany, the Czech Republic, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The project aims to use artificial intelligence, in particular, to (i) help instructors better interpret student performance, (ii) enable more effective student monitoring, and (iii) facilitate (semi-)automated debriefings to address the lack of expert availability.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Smart technologies for medical debriefingStarting: 05\/01\/2026PhD Student: Mohammed El MorabitiAdvisor(s): S\u00e9bastien IksalCo-advisor(s): Emmanuel G.
