Biography

Sebastien IKSAL is Full Professor in Computer Sciences since 2003 at Le Mans University, France. He teaches at the Multimedia Department of the Institute of Technology of Laval, France. In 2002, he received his Doctoral Thesis in the field of Adaptive and Semantic Web at the LIASC Laboratory of Telecom Bretagne, France. Since 2003, his research activities focuses on Technology Enhanced Learning and more specifically in the field of Learning Analytics. He proposed the UTL Environment (Usage Tracking Language) which aims at describing and operationalising learning indicators which are prescribed by final users. He collaborates in various research projects funded by the french National Research Council (ANR) for example. He is also a member of the specific Learning Analytics Team of the Numerilab for the french Digital Head for Education.
