Biography
Sebastian is a postdoctoral researcher in the field of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL). He holds a PhD in Computer Science, awarded “Best PhD” by the university Le Mans in 2024. He has a natural interest in the design and use of technology for a better understanding of the complex social and cognitive processes of collaborative learning. Actively applying findings from this field to his research practice, he is at the origin of the research collective CONNECT, an interdisciplinary, international network with currently 20 active researchers from over 10 countries and five different projects. He is furthermore invested in postdigital research and the responsible use of AI in research and education. During his PhD he designed, implemented and tested novel mobile Augmented Reality interactions for their use in mobile collaborative learning settings (mCSCL). In his position as a postdoctoral researcher at the department of Psychology at the university of Copenhagen in 2025, he designed collaborative activities for Virtual Reality, as well as a collaborative generative AI pipeline for realtime conversations in group settings that he ran randomized controlled studies in Danish highschools with. Sebastian is also involved in the CSCL community as part of the CSCL junior research committee and collaborations across laboratories in Europe and North America.
