Biography

Since march 2022, Sofiane TOUEL is a PhD student at LIUM Laboratory,
He also holds a cybersecurity analyst position in a Canadian multinational company, and in parallel, he collaborates with other researchers from the LIUM laboratory in various research projects in augmented / mixed reality, serious games and TEL (Technology Enhanced Learning) since 2019.
His passion for IT and his interest in research make Sofiane TOUEL a motivated, involved and curious person, with a particular focus on interdisciplinary fields (IT-medicine, IT-psychology, IT-education) since he has collaborated in the design of a remote co-manipulation system in a collaborative augmented environment which aims to simplify the understanding of medical courses at the university on modules that treat the cardiovascular system, and to facilitate user interaction. He is also involved in the SMART-fractions project which aims to study the use of Mixed Reality for learning fractions. The objective is to improve the learning otcome of students in elementary and middle school and to reduce anxiety and fear of math.
