“Girls, Maths and Computing: A Smart Equation” Day

On Tuesday 11 January, a day of awareness-raising on gender stereotypes and post-baccalaureate orientation was held for a mixed audience of high school students. This day was organised by the associations Animath and Femmes&Maths. Nathalie Camelin and Marie Tahon took part in the speed meeting sessions in order to present their career paths and discuss careers with the young people. This was also an opportunity to open discussions on the issue of gender in scientific careers, and more specifically in maths and computer science.

The day was organised around a mathematical conference on the theme “Is the Earth round?”, followed by workshops on careers in maths and computing, and on gender stereotypes. The speed meetings were followed by a play and discussions.
